Hi, my name is Liz and I’ve been thinking of doing this for a long, long time, but was unsure of how to start or who would even read this. But as my 40th birthday is quickly approaching, I realise that I can’t keep procrastinating. I just have to do it. So here it goes.

I want to start something positive. I want to get people thinking. I want to be a part of something that benefits the whole world. And I hope that others want to join me. I want to do this together!

But what exactly is it that I want to do? Well, I’m not entirely certain. Right now my goal is to express my thoughts in this blog. I’d like to provide some sort of guidance to those that may be struggling and in turn I hope to learn more from those around me. But why? Well, it seems that with all the amazing technological advances around, like planes and the internet, the world has gotten a lot smaller. Yet, even though these advances have given us the power to connect like never before, we still seem to be incredibly divided. There is a lot of anger and hostility out there. We feel alone, forgotten, dismissed and are desperate for someone, anyone, to provide a path forward. We don’t want to live in a world that seems to have left us behind. So, I, like many others, get drawn into listening to anyone that appears to have authority and direction. But, unfortunately, a lot of those people (for example politicians, pundits, media personalities) are in fact negative, disruptive individuals with no real desire to improve life for the average person. They provide a false sense of direction to those who feel helpless, using hate and fear to divide us. And while we are divided, too busy focusing on minor issues and differences between us, they take advantage of our distraction to advance their own private agenda. Their goal is to keep us afraid and full of hate. To point out flaws and mistakes while tearing down societal structures helping those of us that need help. They have no desire for the entire world’s population to advance, only those within the already established power structure. So they don’t provide real solutions to the problems facing us, instead they keep us hopeless and desperate for a better world, one that seems to be slipping further and further from our grasp.

So it’s this background that has spurred my interest in starting this blog. I don’t want to accept fear and hate as the guiding forces in modern society. Instead I want to provide a positive path forward. A path I don’t see very often. A path that doesn’t focus on flaws, but looks for solutions. A path that doesn’t try to divide, but one that unites. A path that celebrates all of our differences. A path filled with love, acceptance, compassion, and understanding. A path to conquer our loneliness and desperation.

I do not know where this may lead. It may lead nowhere, but for now I’m going to use this website to write about my own thoughts and beliefs and if I’m lucky, it will help a few people out there that may be struggling. I want to keep things simple. I’m not an expert, nor do I pretend to be. I’m just an average person that sees the potential of a positive world that could be and I want to do everything in my power to make that possible world a reality. I want this venture to be easily accessible to everyone, regardless of personal, religious, political, cultural, traditional beliefs. So whoever you may be, whatever beliefs you may have, I want you to feel included. And if I make mistakes, please forgive me, as I’m here to learn as well. Nobody is perfect, but we can, if we try, make this a better, more happy, more free, more positive world. A world for all of us to succeed in!
